What is Visual Communications

Communicating through visual modes to promote a particular message or feeling is known as Visual Communications. It heavily depends on the vision of the audience and how they subjectively perceive the 2 or 3-dimensional images. This perception of the viewer can be manipulated using typography, colors, shapes, and the layout of the creative piece. As Marty Sklar, The Walt Disney Company’s international ambassador for Walt Disney Imagineering says:

“Communicate with visual literacy – Make good use of all the non-verbal ways of communication – color, shape, form, texture”. ~ Marty Sklar

Careers in this design field are some of the few that integrate art and technology together. A visual designer will make use of various computer programs that will help him produce a creative piece that effectively attracts attention and communicates a message.
